Toyota Commences "Go Green" Program in Vietnam

VIET NAM - Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV), along with with local authorities, has started a US$2 million environmental program in Hanoi.

The Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Environment Protection Agency and TMV will implement the three-year nationwide program through the fund, reports ThanhNien News.

At the launching ceremony, general director of TMV, Nobuhiko Murakami, said the program aims to provide community education on environmental protection, contribute to a cleaner environment, and reduce environmental damage.

The Vietnam Student’s Association will also take part in the program to assist individuals and communities affected by environmental problems, and run protection activities at national parks and reservations.

In addition, “Go Green” will help the central Da Nang University to research and use biogas fuel for power generation at breeding farms in central provinces.

Early last month, Toyota granted about VND80 million ($4,800) to poor individuals and families, especially those affected by environmental problems.
