5,000 Makes the Largest EU Biofuels Event of 2008

UK - This year's Biofuels Expo & Conference promises to bring a busy schedule with new and exciting prospects to the city of Nottingham. The event, held on the 15th and 16th of October, expects to attract over 5,000 visitors from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, which will make it the largest Bioenergy event in Europe this year.

According to the events organisers, the show has widened from its Biodiesel base to incorporate other bioenergy sectors such as Wood/Pellet burning and Biogas.

The show is hoping to attract both small & large scale producers, including people planning or setting up a biofuel facility, end users of biofuels and corporates/local authorities assessing the potential of different biofuels for their organisation.

The event, now in its 3rd year will be showcasing:-

  • Biodiesel
  • Wood / Pellet Burning Technology
  • Biogas
  • Bio-home Heating Oil

Three separate conference agendas tackling the current issues surrounding Biofuels, Wood Energy and Anaerobic Digestion/Biogas will ensure that visitors are up-to-date and informed on the subjects surrounding biofuels, the current legislation and the implementation of biofuel strategies.

For visitors wishing to learn more about wood burning, exhibitors promoting pellets and pellet production as well as burners/boilers of wood pellets and wood chip will be at the show. A dedicated wood burning conference will be held on 16th October at the showground, which is being run in conjunction with the NEF.

The expo features free to attend workshop sessions, which run every 30 minutes throughout both days. Subjects range from the latest technology in Biofuel production through to tax & duty and health & safety rules. Local study tours to production facilities are also being arranged from the show.

"If you are interested in producing biodiesel for personal use, or looking to explore new business opportunities or to find cost saving fuel alternatives this is the event to attend", claim the organisers.
