Print This Page Our Town Biodiesel All Set Up
US - Singing its Mantra, "Local Food to Local Fuel", Our Town Biodiesel of Tamworth is now in full operation, thanks to their many partner restaurants throughout the area. Our Town Biodiesel, formed in April of 2008, procures waste vegetable oil from local restaurant partners and then converts the oil into biodiesel at their operations center in Tamworth, reports Citizen.com.
Biodiesel is a usable product for home heating and any diesel-powered engine. Biodiesel is used in oil burning furnaces, with no alteration necessary, and burns clean with fewer emissions, lessening the impact on the environment.
Our Town Biodiesel is offering tours of its plant on Saturday mornings by reservation only from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to noon.
