Print This Page Queensland Backs Five per cent Ethanol
AUSTRALIA - The Queensland Government has issued an order that all petrol should contain five per cent of ethanol by 2010.The ethanol will be produced from sugar cane waste and grain and the amount in petrol will rise to 10 per cent in subsequent years.
The Queensland government is also backing research into the use of algae to create biofuels as well as the use of cellulose plant waste and other environmentally friendly sources, a report on ABC Rural says.
