Brazil Delegation to Visit Kenya

KENYA - A delegation from Brazil is expected in Kenya next month to explore the possibility for establishing an ethanol plant.

According to Business Daily Africa, local manufacturers have called on the Government to come up with alternative ways to power Kenya’s industrial production, because of the rising costs of energy.

The newspaper says that the Minister for Energy, Kiraitu Murungi, has invited investors in nuclear energy to talk to the Government, in an attempt to shore up Kenya’s electricity and fuel industry.

The Brazilian mission in Kenya said a team of government officials and bio-fuel experts will be visiting Kenya next month to talk to ministers and the private sector on ethanol production from sugar cane.
