Print This Page Colombia to Double Ethanol Production
COLOMBIA - Colombia is to double its ethanol outputby the end of the year, Agriculture Minister Andres Fernandez Acosta said during a visit to London this week.
The country, that is second to Brazil in ehtanol production in Latin America, expects to see its output increase to 2.42 million litres a day.
In an interview recorded on Colombian Reports, he sid that there were plans for six new projects adding 1.37 million litres a day to production.
The minister was in the UK to promote investment innteh biofuels industry, which has already attracted finance from ED&F Man in London.
Colombia mainly uses sugar cane as a feedstock for its ethanol production and palm oil for biodiesel.
