CZECH REPUBLIC - The Czech Republic may boost wind farm generation capacity to some 700 megawatts by 2010 from 114 megawatts last year, an official at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) said on Friday."There are 103 projects either already running or in different stages of development, mainly smaller ones, according to our analysis," said Martin Dasek, sustainable energy finance specialist at the IFC.
"We could see 700 megawatts installed (in total) by 2010," he told Reuters on the sidelines of an energy conference. He said only five projects were bigger than 40 MW, while 80 were smaller than 10 MW.
The IFC, part of the World Bank, provides financing and advisory services to the private sector in developing countries.
