Print This Page Napocor to Build 42 MW Biomass Plant
PHILIPPINES - The National Power Corp (Napocor) in teh Philippines has signed an agreement with French-based renewable energy company, Enertine, to build a 22MW to 42MW biomass power plant for its small power utilities group.
According to a report in the Malaya Business Insight, Napocor president Froilan Tampico said that the 42 MW would be spread to several off-grid areas.
He said that that Napocor and Enertine are discussing how to share the cost of power generation at present,and at rpesent the two companies are looking at the feasibility studies, which would last for three month.
He said that Napocor is looking at institutions such as the Word Bank for possible financing the Business Insight report says.
The small power utilities group was built up to provide adequate electricity at subsidised rates to off-grid islands and isolated communities in the Philippines.
