BIOGAS NORD Expands Capital for Internationalization and Innovation
GERMANY - BIOGAS NORD AG is to increase its capital in order to further implement its strategy of internationalization and technological innovation."We are going to invest in the distribution structures of our foreign subsidiaries, as well as in technologies for processing biogas and feeding it into the natural gas network," said Matthias Kubat, Chief Financial Officer at BIOGAS NORD AG.
The company based in Bielefeld, Germany, considers that the major opportunities lie mainly in its foreign target markets, Spain and Italy.
"In recent weeks, our Spanish branch has been able to report several planning orders for the construction of biogas plants and will even be able to make its first successful contributions to group results in the current year," Mr Kubat added.
For the implementation of innovative technologies for the processing of biogas and feeding it into the natural gas network, BIOGAS NORD is collaborating with Lippe Technical College, among others.
"There are currently several technical solutions for biogas processing," said Gerrit Holz, Chief Executive Officer of BIOGAS NORD AG.
"We do not want to tie ourselves to a specific technology and prefer to offer the best solution for the customer concerned. Energy suppliers and public utilities are increasingly going to rely on the direct supply of power from biogas and this is something for which we are well-positioned, added Mr Holz.
Altogether, at least €2.2 million of new funds should accrue to BIOGAS NORD from the increase in share capital. Up to 637,500 new shares will be on offer, at a ratio of 3:1, for the subscription price of €3.50 per share. The subscription period commences on 15 May and ends on 29 May. If the capital increase results in all the shares being placed, the company’s share capital will be increased from €1.925 million to €2.563 million. The Frankfurt based securities trading bank Close Brothers Seydler AG is providing its services for the share placement. Further details concerning the capital increase can be found at www.biogas-nord.com.
