Canadian Company Aids Filipino Children
THE PHILIPPINES - A Canadian biodiesel company that will establish 100 village level biodiesel facilities in Southern Luzon is also keen on forming a scholarship foundation for children of Filipino farmers, reports the Manila Bulletin.Green Corp., which has three ethnic Filipinos in its board of directors, recently signed a -million project with the Philippine government for the deployment of 100 village-level biodiesel processing facilities known as Greenstar 100 (GS100) in Quezon, Laguna, Batangas and areas in the Bicol region.
The firm plans to produce 1,000 liters per day of coconut methyl ester (CME) per facility in just 10 hours, which will benefit 5,000 families and 100 farmers’ organizations and cooperatives for the project’s 2-year duration. Green Corp. says the farmers will have a guaranteed market for their products.
Greenstar 1000 (GS1000), a biodiesel batch processing equipment, has strategically positioned itself in Vietnam and in other countries in Southeast Asia as a major player in biofuel production.
The Green Corp. team will be headed by Rely Diego, president and chief executive officer (CEO), Mohinder Paul Singh Saini, senior vice president and chief operating officer (COO) and Ernie Calica, vice president for business development and marketing.
